What Diode Wiring Kit Do I Need To Go With The Brake Buddy Stealth Supplemental Braking System

Question:

#1We installed the stealth system and need a tail light wiring diode kit, we have Hopkins kit HM-56200 in our cart, and need to know if we need to purchase the Roadmaster brake relay kit RM-88400. #2 is it absolutely necessary to disconnect the battery while towing with the stealth braking system and Hopkins tail light kit installed? Thank you

Since the Brake Buddy Stealth Supplemental Braking System # HM39530 comes with it's own special 6 to 7-way adapter cable and port all you'll need is the Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit # RM-152 to send your motorhome's signals through your Jeep's tail lights.

Your Jeep has combined wiring so you will need to install the Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-88400. This will prevent your braking signal from overriding your turn signal, which is important for when you're needing to change lanes while also slowing down.

Yes, the battery has to be disconnected while flat towing. This is from the manufacturer and is typically to prevent a specific system from kicking on (i.e. steering wheel lock). If you want a simple switch for this instead of having to remove the cable from the post of your battery and reconnect it every time then I recommend the Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect with Switch for Towed Vehicle w/ Supplemental Braking System # RM-766.
