The Curt Class III Hitch for your 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, part # 13301, does require removal of the OEM light-duty bumper hitch. Both hitches cannot be installed at one time. I have linked the installation instructions; I have also included a video showing installation of the Curt 13301 on a 2013 Silverado. Also provided are two articles that may be helpful; one covers general installation tips and the other specifically covers the process for cleaning out weld nuts prior to hitch installation (this may be less of an issue on your new truck but I have provided it just in case).

This bolt-on hitch comes complete with all mounting hardware and requires no welding. It has a 2-inch receiver opening and is rated for 600-lbs tongue weight (TW) and 6000-lbs gross trailer weight (GTW). If used with a weight distribution system its capacity increases to 1000-lbs tongue weight and 10,000-lbs gross trailer weight.

Please note that a ball mount, hitch ball and pin and clip are not included with this hitch. I have linked our main page for Class III 2-inch ball mounts. We offer both adjustable and fixed types. If you often tow a variety of trailers then an adjustable mount may be worth the cost; otherwise you can use the filters on the left side of the page to select a fixed ball mount with the rise or drop appropriate to match the heights of your hitch receiver and trailer to ensure the trailer remains level when hitched. I have also linked our page for Class III hitch balls; here you can select the size required to match your trailer coupler.

You can use either a simple hitch pin and clip to secure your ball mount (# PC3) or you can choose a locking hitch pin such as the etrailer # e98882
