Weight Distribution with Longer Shank Recommendation for Intech Sol Horizon Camper
Question:
I am pulling a 19’ Intech Sol Horizon camper with a 2007 Lexus GX470. Right now I have this ball mount and 2-5/16 ball pulling it 80232 It weighs about 3,300lbs. I need this long ball mount due to have a spare tire mounted on the tailgate and the trailer jack so close to the coupling. I can send pictures of the hook up if needed to further explain. My question is, can I get a WD hitch for this setup with that long of a shank? The trailer frame is aluminum, but the manufacturer said I could use the clamp on style and do not drill into the frame. I’m looking to find a little more stability to towing this camper. Thanks,

We have longer weight distribution shanks like the Curt part # C17122 which measures 14 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the vertical holes of the shank. You're pretty lucky your trailer manufacturer said it was okay to use a WD with the aluminum frame. Typically they do not.
