Staple Type, Length and Quantity Needed When Attaching To 18' X 6" Bunk Boards

Bunk board carpet? How many staples willi need for 18 ft x 6 in boards.

I recommend stapling the CE Smith Deluxe Marine-Grade Carpeting for Bunk Boards # CE11349 every 2 inches along the length of each side. More staples will be required at the ends of the board as you are folding over the material onto the back of the boards. Be sure to use stainless steel staples so they will not corrode over time as the bunk boards will be submerged in water.
To be safe I would estimate around 250 staples per board as you will staple both sides of the fabric separately down the length of the board. 1/2" or longer staples are preferred especially when going through multiple layers of fabric.
