What Hitch and Wiring do You Recommend for a 2019 Toyota Highlander?
Question:
I have a 2019 Toyota Highlander that Id like to install a hitch on. What do you recommend? I would like one with a hidden cross bar. Also, how do I know if my vehicle has a tow package or not? What wiring do I need?

For a great hitch for your 2019 Toyota Highlander, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Class III - 2" # C13394. This hitch comes with the hidden design you are looking for that conceals any bulky crosstubes. It also has a great ground clearance height of 15 inches from the ground, so you do not need to worry about scraping or bottoming out. Compared to our other hitches, the Curt is the best because it comes with a superior gloss outer coat over the base powder coat to provide you more protection against rust and corrosion.
The easiest way to determine if your 2019 Toyota Highlander has a towing package is to remove the floor coverings at the rear of the inside of your trunk. You can use a trim tool like # ALL648544 to make your life easier. A dead giveaway for a tow package is if you have a square black converter box on the wiring at the rear of your vehicle. If you do not have this box, you do not have the package. If you do not want to remove the flooring, you could also confirm with your local Toyota dealer with the VIN.
For wiring, you need the T-One Vehicle Harness # 118449 (without tow package) or the Curt T-Connector # 56042. As you can see from these harnesses, the # 118449 comes with the black converter box and the # 56042 does not. The deciding factor of which harness you need is whether you have the tow package installed.
I went ahead and attached helpful installation videos for you to check out.
