Best Way to Carry a Generator on a Travel Trailer with a Hollow Bumper

Good morning. I have a 2019 Minnie Winabago Travel Trailer, model 2500RL, I am interested in a Cargo Carrier, specifically to carrier a generator and fuel. Currently a spare tire is attached at the center of the bumper. A ladder in located on the left. The current bumper is a 4” hollow tube, bolted to the rv frame. Documentation suggest not attaching anything to the bumper, even stating not to use as a step to access ladder. Our generator is a 3100 watt, 100 lb, 16x24x20” high. We would ideally carrier 5 gal of fuel. If you have suggestion, I am interested in purchasing all parts needed to assure safe caring of our generator. Please note, the generator is the only reason I need this product, however, if additional items can be carried that’s a bonus.

I do have a solution for you. With your 2019 Minnie Winnebago Travel Trailer model 2500RL having a hollow bumper, there really isn't a great bumper mount option to carry your generator. Your best option is going to be to add a trailer hitch using the Curt Adjustable Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13701 if your frame is between 18"-51" Wide or the Multi-Fit Motor Home Trailer Hitch # 82201 if your frame is between 47" - 71" wide.
The Curt Adjustable Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13701 has a tongue weight rating of 500 lbs. and the Multi-Fit Motor Home Trailer Hitch # 82201 has a tongue weight rating of 300 lbs. but you will want to check with Winnebago to ensure you do not exceed what your trailer is rated for.
Using one of the above hitches will allow you to use a cargo carrier like the 24x60 Curt Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches # C18152. This carrier would provide you with plenty of space for your generator and other cargo. The measurement from the center of the hitch pin to the closest edge of the carrier is 11-1/4". This gives you an idea of how close the carrier comes for spare tire purposes. If possible, you may need to shift the spare tire over.
There is also the 24x60 Reese Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches # 63153 which has a distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest edge of the carrier of 12-3/4".
