Cable Size and Length Recommendation for 1.5K Dutton-Lainson Worm Gear Hand Winch
Question:
Hello. I am looking to buy a winch as an anchor puller on my 10 foot jon boat. A two drum system will let me run anchors front and back. I need to run 40 of poly rope on each drum. So maybe 5/16 or 3/8. Will your winches work for this?

The Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch # DL10965 has a max cable size of 1/4" at 43' so I wouldn't go any larger than that, even if you're needing a little less than the 43' max length. I recommend sticking with the 1/4" cable size o you don't overdo it on the winch.
