Does the ComeUp winch have a metal housing or base? Basically, what Im specifically asking about is the base of the winch where the mounting bolt holes are located.

It is plastic. The ComeUp UW-5000si Trailer Winch item # CU645010 is a light duty winch so it's housing and base are made of plastic.

I attached a picture below that will show you the base. I've also linked an installation video that will go over the features of the winch.
