What Bike Rack do You Recommend for Transporting My Trek Verve E-Bike on My 2016 Honda CR-V?
Question:
Will this rack work for a honda 2016 CRV with ad 2 inch hitch? Will be using it with a Trek Verve ebike.

I have a great alternative for you. From the looks of all available models of Trek Verve E-bikes, they all have fenders and a rear cargo platform. If this is the case, we do not recommend using wheel-mount bike rack styles like the Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack for 1 Bike - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches # KU64FR. This is because the wheel-mount ratcheting hooks can move slightly during transport and causes unnecessary risk of damage to the fenders and/or cargo tray.
With that being said, we do not carry a single-bike rack that has a different mounting style. For that reason, the best bet is to go with a 2-bike rack. I recommend the Saris Freedom Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches # SA4412B. Not only does the Freedom come with the same 60-pound weight capacity as the Transfer V2, the rack also comes with independently-adjusting cradles that are perfect if you have a step-thru bike or a women's bike style. These cradles attach to your frame or seat post and completely avoid the fenders and rear platform. The rack is compatible with wheelbases up to 48 inches from axle to axle and wheels up to 2-1/4" wide. For locks, I recommend the Hitch Tite Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock # SA3022 along with the etrailer cable lock # e98891.
If you need a 2" hitch for your 2016 Honda CR-V, I recommend the Curt Hitch # C13119. This hitch installs super close to your bumper, so you do not need to worry about bumper clearance with the Saris Freedom. It includes a simple bolt-on installation that only takes about 40 minutes to install.
As with all hitch applications, I recommend consulting with your vehicle's owner's manual to make sure your vehicle can handle the amount of weight you wish to transport.
