Troubleshooting Titan BrakeRite Actuator and Adaptor Not Working After Dog Chewed Through Wires
Question:
My dog recently chewed a bunch of wiring from my electric over hydraulic Titan Brake Rite Actuator and T4845900 adapter. I have a 2017 GMC Sierra 1500. I had a friend replace the wiring, but he spliced the wires using all 12 gauge wiring. We used the wiring diagram provided with the Titan actuator with adaptor, and as far as I can tell everything is connected properly. But now the actuator does not work with my brake pedal, it works with the gain controller on my dashboard, but not the the brake pedal. My buddy has a 2004 Dodge 2500. The actuator works with his brake pedal and his gain controller. What am I doing wrong?

One thing I would do is double check the wiring. Since it sounds like it works with a different truck it probably isn't wired incorrectly, but you want to make sure the same gauge wire the actuator and # T4845900 were already using or you will have problems.
Outside of that I would start by checking my ground connections. Make sure they are secure on a clean, bare-metal surface. It is also a good idea to check the 7-way connection on the trailer side and the vehicle. Make sure there is no debris or corrosion present and clean as necessary. If this does not solve the problem, check the 7-way with a circuit tester like the # PTW2993.
If everything checks out then you know it is on the trailer, otherwise you can check to see if there is a problem with the wiring or brake controller on your vehicle. If it is on the trailer side you probably want to focus on the replaced wiring and make sure it is all ok. If it is on the vehicle side you could test behind the brake controller to make sure it checks out. If it is not the brake controller then you probably have a short in your wiring somewhere. Otherwise, you may need to replace it with one like the # RED24FR and # 331-TPH-010.
I have attached a helpful article on troubleshooting brake controllers for your reference.
