Can You Use An Adapter On A Class 1 Hitch To Make It Hold 2 Inch Accessories

Our towed vehicle will only take a 1.25 hitch receiver. Can we use an adapter with the Escapee for our 2 ebikes?

Good question, I have some information for you.

**Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount # TH903202.

An adapter is going to reduce your weight capacity by 50 percent. I recommend going a different route.

The Thule EasyFold does not need an adapter and can carry your ebikes.

This unit weighs 50 pounds and can hold 65 pounds between two bikes. A class 1 hitch will have a max tongue weight of 200 pounds so you will be in the safe zone.
