Parts Needed To Flat Tow 2019 Lincoln Nautilus

Question:

I hHave a 2019 Lincoln Nautilis that I want a flat tow. I don’t see it on your list but I do see the Ford edge. I believe they’re compatible - do you concur? What parts would I need to outfit the Nautilis?

Please verify per your vehicle specific owners manual that your 2019 Lincoln Nautilus can be flat towed. This is listed under "Recreational Towing" in your Owners Manual. Per information available to me online, it states only the 2.7L model can be flat towed.

You may or may not need a high/low adapter, it all depends on each combination of motorhome and towed vehicle. I have attached a help article below that explains what this is and walks you through the process of measuring so as discover if needed. The goal is to ensure your tow bar sets at level +/- 3" once installed. Otherwise, there is the possibility of excessive wear on tire and suspension components of your towed vehicle. Additionally I have linked several video

My recommendations are:

- Base Plate, Blue Ox Base Plate Kit, # BX2680.

- Tow Bar, Blue Ox Avail Non-Binding Tow Bar, # BX7420 which comes with the needed safety cables.

- Wiring Solution, Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit, # RM-15267.
This will splice into your taillight wiring to allow your tow vehicle to control the taillight assemblies of the towed vehicle. This comes with a round 6-way connector that you will install on the front of your towed vehicle and enough coiled wire to go from there to the RV.

- Supplemental Braking, Blue Ox Patriot, # BLU37TR.
This applies the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the tow vehicle is braking. This is the safest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.

I suggest that you use the Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect with Switch for Towed Vehicle w/ Supplemental Braking System, # RM-766.
