Replacement Wheel Straps for Bike Racks with 1/2" Diameter Holes

Question:

I built my bike racks using Softride straps. They are apparently discontinued. Id like to get more straps. Not because they went bad, but, because Ive built a couple more prototype racks and prefer not to rob parts off the previous racks. If you want you can continue reading this book, or wait for the movie. The Swagman P308 strap looks like it could work. The Softrides have, measured with a tape-measure, 3/8inch holes, which are perfect for my hooks. Id like to continue with 3/8-holed straps, if possible. The XTC strap looks like it has potential also. Neither of these straps mentions hole-size or length. Let me know, or if you have a better or best solution. Thanks!

You are correct that the Softride straps were discontinued. The Replacement Rubber Strap for Wheel Hoop on Swagman XTC Series Bike Carriers # P308 you were looking at has a hole diameter of 1/2" and is 12" long compared to the 9-13/16" length of the Softride straps. The 1/2" diameter is as close as we have to the 3/8" diameter of the Softride straps. I have included some options below that have the 1/2" diameter and are different lengths.

The Replacement Rubber Strap for Wheel Hoop on Swagman XTC Series Bike Carriers # P308 12" long and 1/2" diameter holes.

The Replacement Wheel Strap for Thule Raceway Platform Style Bike Carrier # 853-7803 11-3/8" Long and 1/2" diameter holes.

The Replacement Straps for Cradles on Curt Standard and Premium Bike Racks # C18007 9-1/2" Long and 1/2" diameter holes.
