Cant get my boat trailer lights to work at all. I have the white ground off the lights going to trailer separate but do they need grounding together at the back to trailer. . Have power to receiving hitch but not from there back.????

Assuming you have trailer lights like the # TLL160RK I recommend double checking your wiring. The ground should be separate so that is not a problem. Make sure it is secure on a clean, bare-metal surface. You could either swap the other two wires around to check and see if that is the issue or you can use a circuit tester like the # PTW2993 to determine which is the correct wire.
You might also want to check the ground connection on the trailer itself coming from your wiring harness. If you are still having issues I would use the same circuit tester and test out the wiring. Start at the connection on your tow vehicle. If everything checks out then you will want to work your way back on the trailer wiring while inspecting the wiring for a short.
