Can Hollywood Racks Destination Bike Rack Swing Away from Rear of Vehicle for Cargo Access
Question:
Hi, I am looking at hitch mount bike racks. currently the Hollywood Racks Destination Bike Rack for 4 Bikes - 2 Hitches - Frame Mount - HR4000 is the front runner. In the comments one person mentioned a swing arm adapter to pair with this for easy access to the cargo area. I have a 2018 outback and anticipate leaving the rack on the car most of biking season so it is easy to pick up kid w/bike, etc, so easy access to cargo area would be necessary. Can you help recommend a product? I would like 4 bike capacity, but will be mostly used for 3 bikes. thanks,

The Hollywood Racks Destination Bike Rack part # HR4000 is a really great option for a 4 bike rack at the rear of your 2018 Subaru Outback. If you wanted to give this rack the ability to swing out and away from the rear of the vehicle you'd just need the Yakima Backswing part # Y02483 and you'd be set. There isn't a platform bike rack that has the pivoting base built into it.
The only style that has the pivoting base built in is the hanging style like the Thule Apex Swing XT part # TH9027XT.
