To locate your stoplight switch, follow your brake pedal up under the dash and the switch is mounted toward the top of the pedal assembly. This switch will have several wires exiting it and they will all need to be tested.
To test the wires, use a circuit tester such as part # PTW2993 and probe each wire until you locate the wire that goes hot only when the brake pedal is pushed. Once that is found, tap the red controller wire into it.
Because wire colors can vary, we recommend wiring by function, rather than color.
