Question:
Received Tekonsha brake control package, not clear on where to connect to stop light circuit. Information only goes to 2005. I am installing this on a 2006 Escape Hybrid.

To install the Tekonsha PowerTrac Brake Controller # 39523 in your 2006 Ford Escape, the red wire on your brake controller harness # 20127 needs to be connected to the stoplight switch under the dash in your vehicle.
There should be a wire for the stoplight switch on the back of the brake pedal. You will want to use a circuit tester, like # PTW2993, to find the wire that has signal only when the brake pedal is depressed. Testing the wires is the best way to be sure which wire is the one you need to tap into.
A quick spice wire connector, like # SWC502905-1, can be used to splice the brake controller's pigtail wire into your vehicle's stoplight wire.
I have attached a diagram showing how the brake controller should be connected. I have also attached a help article on installing a brake controller for you.
