Can 350 lb Tongue Weight Capacity of 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Be Increased
Question:
I would like to see if there is a way to increase tongue weight capacity to use my hitch mounted motorcycle carrier. The carrier weight is around 100 Pounds and the motorcycle is a Yamaha wr 450 so I think I am right at or slightly above the 350lb states limit. The Jeep does have a 2.5 inch lift Metal cloak game changer Thanks in advance for any help

Although the Draw-Tite # DT78MR has a 675 lb tongue weight capacity, but you'll be limited to the capacity of the lowest rated component, which is the vehicle itself. Jeep lists a maximum tongue weight capacity of 350 lbs in the owner's manual, and there is unfortunately no way to increase that.
If the weight of the bike can be reduced so it and the carrier's combined weight is less than 350 lbs by emptying the gas tanks and removing the seat and battery, it would be okay to carry the bike but I wouldn't recommend exceeding the tongue weight capacity of the vehicle.
If you can't reduce the bike's weight enough, a lighter carrier like the Ultra-Fab # UF48-979033 which weighs just under 50 lbs might provide the wiggle room you need.
I've linked to a demonstration video featuring the carrier I recommended, as well as to an install video for the hitch.
