Can I Test My Brake Controller Without It Being Hooked To A Trailer
Question:
How do you make the brake controller think it is connected to a trailer with brakes? Just to make the unit light up. I have no lights on the control knob. I do lights on the tester for 12+, applied brake trigger but nothing coming from the blue wire. Also no lights on the control knob!

In order to test your brake controller without it being hooked to a trailer it will have to sense a slight amperage draw. In order to test the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller - 2 Braking Modes - 1 to 3 Axles - Proportional, part # RED44FR, you will need something like the Hook Probe Circuit Tester, part # PTW2993. You would then ground one pin of the circuit tester, place the other on the output pin of the brake controller, then press the brake pedal. Then your brake controller should operate as normal. You will need a second person to help you.
I have included a product description link, a video review link, and a wiring diagram below.
