Can I Mount the RR45TB on a Customized Backbone Installation on a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder?

I have a platform answer for you. I went ahead and confirmed with Rhino-Rack that they unfortunately do not make an engineered fitment of a Backbone Mounting System or a Pioneer Platform with a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder. Everything you decide to do with the backbone is considered a non-approved fitment.

With that being said, it depends on the length and model of Backbone you want to have installed on your roof. This is important because each size platform is designed to go with a specific size of Backbone. The Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform Roof Tray - Aluminum - 76" Long x 49" Wide # RR45TB, for example, is designed to be used with the Rhino-Rack Backbone Mounting System for Pioneer Platform # RRRT4B1. The only confirmed way the # RR45TB will fit on your vehicle is if you have the # RRRT4B1 model of Backbone.

However, there is a different method to mount a Rhino-Rack pioneer platform on your vehicle. There are platforms that will attach to crossbar systems. Those platforms are the 48" Long x 38" Wide # RR42114BF and the 58" Long x 47" Wide # RR42115BF. You can also add an eye-bolt kit # RR43178 and straps # RRRTDH3. For this option, you need a compatible roof rack. If you have a bare roof, I recommend the following:

- Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars - Aluminum - Black - 54" # RRVA137B-2
- Track Mount RLTP Legs for Rhino-Rack RTC- and RT-Style Roof Rack Tracks - 2" Tall # RLTP
- RLTP Leg Adapters for Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars - Track Mount # RRVA-FK1-2
- All-Metal Locks # RRVA-LEC4

If you have raised factory rails, I recommend the following setup:

- Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars - Aluminum - Black - 46" Long # RRVA118B-2
- Rhino-Rack SX Series Legs for Vortex Aero Crossbars - Raised Factory Side Rails # RRSX006
- All-Metal Locks # RRVA-LEC4

With both of these setups, you will be able to use the # RR42114BF and the # RR42115BF. As with all rooftop setups, I recommend confirming with your owner's manual to make sure you abide by all guidelines outlined.
