Can Weight Distribution With Sway Control be Used on Nissan Pathfinder With Vehicle Sway Control
Question:
Hi, I just bought a 20 ft TT and the dealer is putting on a WDH without sway bar. My tow vehicle has sway control and Ive heard that I should not put a sway bar on the trailer because it would counteract/conflict with the vehicle sway control? Wondering if you have any experience with this and whether or not I should add a sway bar. Owners manual was no help. Thanks for your help.

After looking at the owner's manual for your 2022 Nissan Pathfinder, nothing says you cannot use sway control with the vehicle sway control system. There is a "Sway control device" section which only says make sure the device will work with the vehicle, hitch, trailer and the trailer's brake system.
If you choose to use a WDH like the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control # EQ37060ET you could shut off the vehicle sway control system to ensure there is no conflict between the two. This would also be a much better option for controlling trailer sway while also keeping you level.
Also, make sure the weight distribution hitch is properly rated for your trailer. Tongue weight is the most important factor when choosing a WDH. For example, the # EQ37060ET is rated for tongue weights from 200-600 lbs. This will be the loaded tongue weight. Tongue weight is typically 10-15% of your loaded trailer weight.
I have attached some helpful articles on weight distribution for your reference.
