Troubleshooting Lack Of Power To Leveling And Slide-Out Systems On A 2018 Forrest River Sierra

Question:

I have 6 jacks and 3 slides. I just moved the camper. The jacks came up, but slowly, so I added some hydraulic fluid as it was a little low. When I got to my destination, the jack system and slides won’t move at all. The batteries are good and the solenoid is clicking…. Just no motor rev… I manually slid the slide outs out and the jacks down but it’s not really level. There is one Allen wrench key on the front passenger jack along with the electrical connection. I removed it, turned the key counter clockwise, and got the jacks down. All of this was with a drill obviously. Why does my key pad not work? All fuses and breakers are good. I see no reset button anywhere… Thanks

Your slide outs and leveling system are totally different systems so this would indicate a power issue. Are you having issues with other appliances or equipment on your 2018 Forest River Sierra? I recommend checking the power to your jacks along with the power running to your slide out motors using a multimeter like the # PT89ZR.

You may have a bad fuse in your control panel, kinked or damaged wiring, or a bad ground connection resulting in your loss of power to your slide-outs and leveling system.
