Choosing the Correct Fastway e2 Weight Distribution System for 5K Trailer
Question:
Hi I asked this question a few days ago with no response. I have a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 4x4 v6 with 6200/620 towing. I am interested in the the Fastplay E2 WDH. My camper is max gross weight 4830. Well under my capacity. I am thinking of the 600/6000 model over the 800/8000. My TW can exceed the 600 but my camper will not be close to 6000. I am fine not being able to get to 620 TW as I dont like maxing it out due to needing cargo space in the Jeep. Would prefer to keep TW at 500-550. Would you agree the 600/6000 is best? If not, what would the 800/8000 do for me advantage wise?

The correct Fastway e2 Weight Distribution System is selected based on tongue weight. It's best for the trailer tongue weight to fall in the middle of the system's capacity but it's better to be overrated than underrated. Therefore, a 5,000 lb trailer with estimated tongue weight between 500 lbs - 750 lbs should use the part # FA92-00-0800 which is rated for 400 lbs - 800 lbs of tongue weight. This gives you extra room for error without the risk of going over and you can always take the system with you if you ever upgrade to a larger trailer. We ask Fastway about this all the time and they always say to go with the higher rated system if you are on the fence.
Please note, you will also need the Hitch Ball for Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems part # EQ91-00-6080 or part # EQ91-00-6100.
