Recommended Coupler Lock for Curt Channel-Mount Coupler
Question:
I have a 2-5/16 trailer hitch Curt 25328 on a flat bed trailer. I would like to buy a lock for the trailer hitch. Which lock do you recommend? I reviewed the etrailer coupler lock for rolled lips e87ZR and etrailer coupler lock for flat lips e98895 are both compatible but Im not sure which one would fit the best. Or perhaps there is a better lock? Any help you could provide would be appreciated. Thanks

Helpful Expert Reply:
Based on the lip on the Curt Channel-Mount Coupler - Squeeze Latch - 2-5/16" Ball - 15,000 lbs # C25328 you will be unable to use the # e98895. The # e87ZR might fit, but I would question how secure it is once again based on the lip on that coupler.
Instead, I would recommend the Fastway Universal Trailer Coupler Lock for 1-7/8", 2" and 2-5/16" Couplers # FA86-0015-316. This is a universal lock that will secure over the top of the coupler and uses a bolt-blocked locking system to prevent thieves from prying open the lock.
If you would like additional security, or another option, you could also use the etrailer Adjustable Trailer Coupler Latch Lock # e98883. This will fit through the safety pin hole on the # C25328.
I have attached some review videos for your reference.
