Comparing Demco Channel Tongue Trailer Couplers # DM16080-95 & # DM15931-95

Question:

I am looking at the Demco couplers for a 3 inch channel that work with a 2 5/16 ball. There are two models rated for 21k lbs. one is DM16080-95 the other is DM15931-95. What is the difference in these two models?

Expert Reply:

The only difference in the Demco Channel Tongue Trailer Couplers # DM16080-95 and # DM15931-95 is going to be the bolt pattern. One will have the 5-Bolt hole pattern and the other is going to have 4-Bolt holes. I have included images below showing the measurements for each of these bolt patterns to compare with what you have on your trailer.

The etrailer Surge Brake Coupler Lock # e98888 will allow you to secure the coupler while attached to your vehicle. We also have a Pin # 37201211 if you want to ensure the coupler does not come undone without having the hassle of a lock.
