There are some differences to consider between the Curt Hitch # C96CR and the # C36CR on your 2022 Chevy Silverado 2500. The first difference is the weight rating. While the # C96CR offers 2,700 pounds of max tongue weight and 20,000 pounds of max gross towing weight, the # C36CR offers 2,550 pounds of max tongue weight and 17,000 pounds of max gross towing weight.
The second difference is the hitch receiver opening. The # C96CR has a 2-1/2 inch opening while the # C36CR has a 2-inch opening.
Other than those differences, the hitches are virtually the same. If you are looking for the highest weight rating, I recommend going with the # C96CR. If, however, you are looking for a hitch that is compatible with most accessories, I recommend the # C36CR.
