I have a couple options for you as the Curt High-Low Adapter 45797 # C27KR is only designed to be used with tow bars when flat towing. The Curt Class III Ball Mount with 2-5/16" Ball # C45065 is only 9-1/4" long from the receiver hitch pin hole to the ball mount hole.

The Curt Ball Mount # D-28 also has a 6" drop like the other Curt ball mount but this mount is 14-1/4" long from the receiver pin to ball mount hole. That would gain you 5 inches without using an adapter. The ball mount is limited to 6,000lbs and would require the 2-5/16" Hitch Ball # 63847.

If your enclosed trailer is heavier than 6,000lbs or you would still prefer it to be farther away you can use the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank # EQ90-02-4600 with the Ball Mount Adapter # BA-1. The combination of these will give you approximately 17" of total length from receiver pin hole to ball mount. The adapter is rated for up to 10,000lbs, and you will need the 2-5/16" Hitch Ball # C40007 that is also rated for 10,000lbs. The Replacement Bolts # EQ90-02-9100 will secure the adapter to the shank.

The Curt Anti-Rattle Hitch Clamp # C27UR will work with any of these receivers to remove the play you are experiencing.
