Recommended Roadmaster Base Plates For A 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Limited

Looking to buy the Roadmaster Nighthawk and I keep seeing it hooks up to the Blue Ox base plates. Does Roadmaster not have its own base plates. I’m new to the game and it’s my first attempt to flat.tow my 2022 1500 GMC Sierra. Thank you

You're most likely looking at the Roadmaster Nighthawk # RM-677 which is designed to be compatible with Blue Ox base plates. The Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain # RM-676 is compatible with Roadmaster direct-connect base plates like you're wanting.
Before going any further I do want to note that only 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 models with four-wheel-drive and a two-speed transfer case that have an N (Neutral) and a 4 Low (Four-Wheel Drive Low) setting can be flat towed. There are also instructions in the manual that need to be followed to get your Sierra ready to be flat towed as well.
For the base plates I recommend the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-523198-5. These base plates are a custom fit for your 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Limited and will give you a quick and easy connection point for your Nighthawk tow bar. The arms are removable and to help provide a nice, clean factory look and save your shins when walking around the front of your Sierra.
To flat tow you'll also need the Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit # RM-152 to transfer your braking and turn signals from the motorhome to the Sierra. The Nighthawk is going to include the vehicle side 6-way port as well as the adapter cable so you won't need to spend the extra money on the kits that include these.
Note: For applications that have separate lighting, this kit will cause your brake lights to function as both brake and turn signal lights. A wiring converter # 118158 and 2 additional diodes # RM-792 will be needed if you want to retain separate turn and brake signals.
You'll also need a braking system, for this I recommend the Brake Buddy Select 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System - Proportional # HM39524. This system offers intense, emergency braking or steady, smooth braking in a single portable system. Easily switch between proportional or full braking using the remote from the cab of your motorhome. The included charge line kit will keep your Sierra's battery charged while you tow.
You will also need to remove the negative battery cable to flat tow your Sierra, per the owner manual's instructions. I highly recommend installing the Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect with Switch for Towed Vehicle w/ Supplemental Braking System # RM-766 so that all you have to do is flip a switch instead of having to get under the hood to disconnect and reconnect the cable every time you tow.
Since the Nighthawk comes with safety cables you won't have to purchase these separately but you may need a high/low adapter to keep the Nighthawk level between the motorhome and the Sierra. This does require you do to some measuring so I've attached our help article to walk you through determining the correct rise/drop needed for your application.
