Comparing Blue Ox SwayPro and TrackPro For a 2022 Winnebago Micro Minnie 1808FBS

Question:

I am looking at purchasing a Winnebago 1808 FBS 5000 GVWR with my 2018 Toyota 4Runner. I’ve previously towed a pop-up camper with a friction-bar sway control unit. With the higher weight, I’m looking to upgrade my setup. I’m looking at the Blue Ox BLU36FR and the BXW0550. Can you give me some advice? Can the ball on the BXW0550 be swapped and not compromise the system?

I recommend the Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution # BLU36FR as it has the slightly higher tongue weight rating of 600lbs vs the Blue Ox SwayPro # BXW0550 that only goes to 550lbs. With the dry tongue weight on your 2022 Winnebago Micro Minnie 1808FBS being 390lbs, it will quickly climb up when the dealer adds the 40lbs of propane and 50lb battery to the front of the trailer.

The hitch ball from either hitch can be swapped out to match your trailers receiver and will not compromise the hitch system. Both will use a 1-1/4" shank diameter hitch ball like the 2" Hitch Ball # A-90 or 2-5/16" Hitch Ball # 19286.
