Can Reese PS1040100 Cargo Carrier Be Used for Carrying Rototiller
Question:
I am considering the Reese carrier for my 2015 Jeep Cherokee which came factory equipped with the towing package with a tongue weight of 450lbs. I plan to haul my Troy rototiller which weighs around 150lbs. Will this carrier work well for me?

Helpful Expert Reply:
As long as the footprint of your rototiller will fit upon the 47-3/4" long x 31-3/4" wide inside dimension of the # PS1040100 carrier, it'll work perfectly for you. The factory hitch and the carrier is more than capable of handing the weight of the tiller.
I'd also recommend a locking hitch pin like # e98882 and some ratchet straps like # EM34415 from Erickson, if you don't already have some.
You might also be interested in the optional # 6504 light kit and the # PS1040200 ramp kit. The light kit will prove helpful if the tiller blocks the vehicle taillights and the ramp kit could make loading your fairly heavy tiller easier.
