High Weight Capacity Trailer Tire Recommendation in Size 205/75R15

Question:

I need two trailer tires, 205/75R15, with the very highest possible load capacity. What can you recommend? Thanks.

We offer four trailer tires in your required 205/75R15 size and all can be seen on the link provided. The highest-rated tire is part # AM10245 which is a radial tire in Load Range D. This tire is rated for a maximum load of 2,150-lbs at its specified 65-psi inflation pressure.

If you prefer a pre-mounted tire/wheel combination you can use the other link provided to select your required bolt pattern and tire type preference. Please note that pre-mounted tires/wheels are available only up to Load Range C.

Please note that trailer tires should always be inflated to their maximum rated psi as indicated on the tire's sidewall. Also keep in mind that unless your axles and hubs are rated highly enough to make use of the higher-rated tires you will not be increasing your trailer capacity.

I currently have a 205/75R15 on my tiny house low load capacity and I need to replace them with a heavy duty tire with more load capacity preferably at least 3500 per tire so I can transport it. Can I go with 235/80R16? If not what would you recommend?

Making that big of a jump in size would likely also require new hub assemblies and possibly a new axle, as the bolt patterns change with these larger wheels as well. You're also looking at close to a 4" height/diameter increase. This is basically to say that it's certainly possible, but you'll likely need to make some modifications elsewhere on the tiny house to accommodate them. If you need to get up to 3,500 pounds per tire though, there's not really another option. If you can tell me some information on your hubs (axle capacity, inner/outer bearings used) I will be happy to make some additional recommendations.
