Can a Disc Brake Actuator be Used with Trailer Drum Brakes if Brake Controller is Set Lower

Question:

Can I use one of the electric over hydraulic brake Actuators for disc brakes on a drum brake system by turning the gain on the controller down?

The difference between drum and disc brakes is the amount of psi each requires. The master cylinders are different and so they are not interchangeable even if you where to turn down the output on a brake controller. Since you have a drum brake set up on the trailer you will need the drum brake actuator # HBA-10 that you have referenced.

If you do not already have a brake controller that is compatible with electric over hydraulic braking systems, I recommend the P2, # 90885. It is a very reliable controller that is easy to set up and easy to use.
