Could you tell me specifically where to get the current to energize the PK5231201 solenoid installed in a 2003 Toyota Tacoma? I know that I need a power source that is live when the engine is running.

There are various circuits that are only hot when the vehicle is turned on. The radio is one. You could find the fuse that powers the radio and then use a fuse tap to tape into it and wire it to the center post on the isolation solenoid # PK5231201. Use the vehicle owners manual and/or legend on the power distribution box lid to locate a relevant fuse. Fuse taps are available at auto parts stores.
