How Can I Carry My Two 50 Lbs Ebikes On My 2021 Subaru Crosstrek
Question:
If I got a 2 in hitch with a 2021 crosstrek sport would I be able to carry two 50lb ebikes on this? not sure if the 37.5lbs is spread evenly across the 4 or if you just shouldnt exceed 150 lbs total?

Your 2021 Subaru Crosstrek Sport has a maximum tongue weight of 200 lbs. Depending on your hitch receiver, this maximum tongue weight is less than what your hitch receiver is rated to carry. The maximum tongue weight you must adhere to, is the lower of those two values, your vehicle and the hitch receiver.
My hitch receiver recommendation is the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Matte Black Finish - Class III - 2", part # e98912. Once this hitch receiver is installed, your hitch bike rack and the two ebikes you want to carry cannot exceed 200 lbs.
The Yakima HangOver Bike Rack for 4 Mountain Bikes - 2" Hitches - Tilting, part # Y02484, you expressed an interest in has a maximum weight limit of 37.5 lbs per bike. Unfortunately, that weight remains the same whether you are carrying one bike or three bikes. Even if you remove your e-bike battery, you will exceed the maximum weight limit of this rack.
You do have other options. You could go with something like the Yakima HoldUp Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount, part # Y02443. This rack has a weight limit of 60 lbs per bike. You can secure it to your vehicle and secure the bikes to the rack with the included bike locks.
