Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver and Wiring for Towing With 2022 Chevrolet Traverse Premier
Question:
I recently got a 2022 Chevy Traverse Premier but I did not add the trailering equipment. I would like to add a hitch and wiring, including 7-way wiring to my vehicle for when I need to tow. Please let me know what I need to make this happen.

We can definitely get you set up for towing with your 2022 Chevrolet Traverse. For a hitch I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # CU29FR. This Class III hitch has a 2" receiver with a maximum gross trailer weight of 5,000 lbs and tongue weight of 750 lbs. It features a concealed cross tube and will be completely hidden with the rear bumper panel installed just like the factory hitch. This hitch is also compatible with weight distribution should you need it in the future.
For the most reliable wiring, I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118287. This will plug into the connection point under your vehicle providing you with a 7-way connection at the back. If you need a 4-way you can use an adapter like the # PK12716.
For a complete towing setup you will also need a ball mount. I like the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900. This kit has two ball mounts, one with a 3/4" rise or 2" drop and the other with a 2-3/4" rise or 4" drop. It also comes with a 1-7/8" and 2" ball, along a ball mount bag to store everything in.
I have attached some review and installation videos for you to check out. I also added a picture showing what the hitch will look like once installed.
