What Is The Least Visible Trailer Hitch Available For A 2022 Subaru Ascent
Question:
Hi. I want to get my new 2022 Subaru Ascent set of for light towing, but mostly to use the Swagman Trailhead 3 bike rack. I currently do not have a hitch or wiring on my car, so what all do you recommend? I would prefer something that is mostly hidden since I wont be using it all the time. Thanks.

If you are in need of getting your 2022 Subaru Ascent set up for light towing and carrying a bike rack, we definitely have what you need. I recommend going with the etrailer.com Cust Fit Class III # e55ZR. This American made hitch, though fairly involved, requires no drilling or trimming to get installed. It also has a 5,000 pound towing capacity and a 750 pound tongue weight capacity, though you will need to confirm what your vehicle can handle in the owner's manual. The big reason I am recommending this hitch is due to it being 100% hidden when not in use. There is a panel on your bumper that can be removed to access the hitch when needed, but then put back in place when it isn't. If you don't want to see the hitch at all times, this is definitely your guy.
For the wiring, I recommend going with the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118790. This is a direct plug and play option that will be a pretty quick and easy install. I have found the Tekonsha harnesses to be the longest lived of all the brands we carry, so it is also highly recommended.
