Question:

During the testing I get a message no brake light switch detected I have the brake light wired directly to the coach trailer plug. Is there a jumper I can install to get around this message? Thanks

The "no brake light switch detected" error message on the Roadmaster Even Brake Portable Supplemental Braking System part # RM-9400 can be caused by a few different things. We have spoken with Roadmaster in the past and this is the advice they have gave.

If your toad has to have fuses pulled in order to flat tow it then it is possible that the Even Brake was not installed correctly. If you have pulled the fuses for the test then try putting the fuses back in and run the test again. If the Even Brake works normally then you will need to re-wire the brake light relay that was included with the Even Brake for it to work correctly when the fuses are pulled. I have linked the brake light relay instructions for you.

The other suggestion was regarding a brake light switch kit. If your toad requires a brake light switch kit then you will want to check the installation and make sure that its plunger compresses when the brake pedal is fully released. If it is adjusted correctly then you can also check the vehicle brake light fuse to make sure it is not blown.
