Troubleshooting a Jeep That Won't Start After Flat Towing

Question:

After disconnecting, the jeep doesn’t start. I have taken out the fuses from the Invisibrake install thinking it would reset. Not sure if that makes a difference. Just keep doing it and after awhile it does start. It appears the battery is fully charged. In another thread, there was a suggestion to just push the brake real hard to start after unhooking. I haven’t tried that yet as it doesn’t make sense. I will do more experimenting tomorrow, but hope there is some known issue and response.

The Roadmaster InvisiBrake Supplemental Braking System Item # RM-8700 will drain the battery while towing so the first thing to check is if the battery is reading 12.6 volts or higher. If not then your battery is the issue. The starter could also be needing to be replaced if you're not getting a crank.

I spoke with Roadmaster and their tech stated that if you have a brake relay or custom fit brake switch installed and the wiring is incorrectly installed it could be causing this issue as well. I recommend checking your wiring and insuring if you have either of these installed that they are correctly wired with no bends or knicks in the wiring.
