Rotating Pin Box or Automatic Slider for Towing 2022 Grand Design Reflection 303RLS
Question:
I have a 2022 Grand Design Reflection 303rls 5th wheel and a 2022 Ram 3500 diesel srw 6’4” bed truck. I am trying to decide between an automatic sliding hitch for example Demco and a rotating pin box for example Reese Sidewinder with standard hitch. Do you suggest one approach over the other? If so, why? Thanks

The rotating pin boxes are the way to go over an automatic sliding hitch for a few reasons. One being that auto sliding hitches are very heavy which makes them a pain to install and remove whereas the rotating pin boxes like the Sidewinders allow you to use a fixed hitch which will weigh less. The fixed hitches also have fewer moving parts so they are quieter as well. Sidewinders also allow the trailer to track better behind the truck which helps a lot with backing the trailer up.
For your 2022 Grand Design Reflection 303rls we know it has a Lippert 1621 so for a Sidewinder you could use the # RP34FR and you'd be set with a fixed hitch like the # RP30922 that you referenced.
