Recommended Tire Chains For 2016 Ford F-150 4X4 With 265/70/R17 Wheels

Question:

My 2016 owners guide says to only put chains on rear tires only and not to put on front tires. Which chains do you recommend for ease of installation and reliability?

Yes, the manual states to only use snow chains on the rear wheels and to only use chains rated as Class S. For this I recommend the Konig Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern - D Link - XG12 Pro - Size 267 # TH01594267. These durable tire chains are made of a sturdy steel alloy that resists corrosion. D-Shape links provide excellent traction. Chains automatically tighten and align as you drive for an easy peasy installation.

The installation instructions are as follows:

1. Spread the chain around the back of the tire.
2. Connect the plastic-covered, yellow and blue cable on the back side of the tire.
3. Pull the chain over the top and around the tire. Connect the red hook to the red loop.
4. Make the last connection by running the red loop through the buckle and then to the red hook attached to the tensioning cable.
5. Simply drive forward to activate the patented self-centering, auto-tensioning system to ensure a perfect fit.

I've attached a review video below that will offer some additional information and walk you through the installation process.
