If you are sure you have a 2014 Chevrolet Colorado, there is not a flat towing fit for your vehicle. It was not available in the United States until the 2015 model year. Now I do have a solution for you if you have a 2015 Chevrolet Colorado. You will need the following items to flat tow; base plate kit, a tow bar, supplemental brake system, safety cables, and wiring.

The baseplate I recommend for the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado is the etrailer Invisible Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms, part # e98966.This is compatible with the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado 2WD extended cab, provided that it does not have the adaptive cruise control.

The towbar I recommend is the Demco Commander II Non-Binding Tow Bar for Blue Ox Base Plates - RV Mount - 2" Hitch - 6K lbs, part # DM9511012-BX. This is a non-binding tow bar, so it will not be difficult to disconnect. The safety chains are included. This tow bar comes with self-aligning arms. You will also have about 3" of height adjustment with this tow bar.

The supplemental brake that i recommend is the Demco Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System w/ Wireless Coachlink Monitor - Proportional, part # DM86VR. This is a proportional braking system, meaning that the same force you apply to your tow vehicle gets applied to your flat-towed vehicle.

The last piece of the puzzle is the wiring system so your towed vehicle mirrors the lights of the tow vehicle. I recommend the Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit, part # RM-154. Once this has been installed you do not have to remove anything. It relies on the lights of your vehicle, so you will not have to add lights every time you flat tow your vehicle.

The last things I recommend whenever someone is doing some wiring installation is dielectric grease and a circuit tester. The grease because it will help fight corrosion in your system and the circuit tester for troubleshooting. The part numbers are Dielectric Grease for Electrical Connectors, 2 oz. part # 11755, and the Hook Probe Circuit Tester,
part # PTW2993.

I have attached product descriptions, a web link about flat towing, and installation videos below.
