Is It Ok To Replace A Curt A25 5th Wheel Hitch With A Curt Q25 5th Wheel Hitch
Question:
I want to know if the A25 and the Q25 can connect to the same trailer. The trailer I brought used to be connected to a A25 hitch but I ordered a Q25 hitch for my 2018 Ram bighorn will it be a problem to connect to the trailer the q25

The only difference between the Curt A25 # C16180 and Curt Q25 # C16265 is the head. The Curt A25 features a stronger head unit with better materials that's going to hold up better over time. The jaws have also been upgraded to provide a more secure connection with the trailer and allow for a smoother ride. The head on the A25 can also be easily removed from the base by pulling just 1 pin, making it a simple 1 person job. The Curt Q25 requires you to remove a couple pins and the head itself is a bit heavier.
Because the head of the Q25 isn't as reinforced as the A25 it is not compatible with rotating pin boxes like the Lippert's Rota-Flex pin box # LC328330. Other than this pin box type, you won't have any issues coupling to your trailer's pin box.
