I can definitely get you set up with an electric brake controller and 7-way for your 2017 Chevrolet Express 2500 Van. If you do not already have a 4-way connector at the back of your van then you will need to start there. The 4-way is what will be adapted in order to get a 7-way connector. If you don't already have a 4-way I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118392. This will provide you with a 4-way connector and plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side interior trim panels in your rear cargo area. If you already have a 4-way, then this will not be needed.

Next, you will want to get the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way # ETBC7. This kit will include everything you need to adapt the 4-way connector into a 7-way connector. This will be 25' long, depending on how you route the wire you may need the Deka Jacketed 2 Wire, 10 Gauge, Brake Wire # 10-2-1 which will provide you with extra wire and is sold by the foot. This is sometimes needed on longer vehicles like cargo vans. The Curt No-Drill Bracket # C57202 can be added to provide a mounting point for 7-way bracket that is included in the # ETBC7 kit.

Lastly, you will need the brake controller. I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195. This brake controller activates trailer brakes in proportion to your vehicle's braking action so if you slam on the brakes in your van, your trailer brakes will activate with that same extreme intensity. And if you merely slow down as you approach a red light, your trailer will gradually brake in the same manner. This controller also has integrated safeguards to protect your vehicle, trailer and the controller. After mounting the P3 unit in your cab using the included bracket, hardwire one end of the included pigtail harness directly into your vehicle. The other end plugs into the brake controller.
