Weight Difference Between Race Ramps Trailer Step # RR-2STEP-36 and # RR-2STEP-24
Question:
Hi, regarding the two step 24inch and 36, if all other dimensions are the same and the 24inch weighs 25 lb, the 36inch should weigh 50 more being it is 50 wider. The specifications show the 36inch two step at 27 lb, and the 24inch two step at 25 lb, the additional 12inch width only weighing in at 2 lb. Mathematically the 36inch should weigh 37 1/2 lbs. I would prefer the wider step if it is only 27 lbs, but I am just checking to make sure as it doesnt make sense. If it is only 27 lbs what is different about the structure? If it was hollow that would account for some weight but it is advertised as a solid block. Can you help? Thanks and best regards

I spoke to my contact at Race Ramps, she told me that those are the correct weights for the Race Ramps Trailer Step - 15-1/2" Lift - 24" Long - Qty 1 # RR-2STEP-24 and the Race Ramps Trailer Step - 15-1/2" Lift - 36" Long - Qty 1 # RR-2STEP-36. She said that they were both made of the same materials, but the core is a light weight densified material so just because a product is larger than another doesn’t mean it’s weight will be too much greater.
So, yes the Race Ramps Trailer Step - 15-1/2" Lift - 36" Long - Qty 1 # RR-2STEP-36 only weighs 27 lbs even though it is 12" wider.
