Making License Plate Light Kit Adapter for Spare Tire Carrier

Hello, I have the Curt trailer light wiring harness for my 2020 crosstrek. I am getting a spare tire carrier and am going to need to relocate my license plate. I would like to run a license plate light off the CURT wiring harness but want to know if there is a connector that would allow me to do this? That way I can use the trailer wiring harness to power the license plate light and it will be easy to disconnect when not in use. Thanks.

To make a license plate light that you could add to your spare carrier you could use the part # LPL55CB to provide the light and plate bracket and then for wiring use run a # HM48110 to it so that you could plug in when needed. Basically you'd run the brown wire of the 4-way to the black of the light and then the white to white and you'd be set.

The Roadmaster Spare Tire Carrier item #RM-195125 requires a 2" hitch receiver. So long as the tire carrier and tire do not exceed the maximum tongue weight of your receiver hitch this will fit you Subaru Crosstek.
