Converting a Curt Q20 5TH Wheel Hitch To Fit a 2022 GMC Sierra 3500 Long Bed With Factory Prep/Puck

I need to adapt my Curt Q20 5th Wheel Hitch to work with the factory 5th wheel hitch prep package that came on my 2022 GMC Sierra 3500. It has an 8 foot bed and there are 5 holes in the bed with the caps that are removable. What do I need to be able to mount my hitch in the bed?

To mount a Curt Q20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # C16130 into your 2022 GMC Sierra 3500 there are a couple options.

First and easiest is to use the Adapter Rails # C88KR that will drop into your factory prep/puck system and give you the connection points for your Curt Q20 hitch to drop into. This will add an additional 2-1/2" of height to your hitch height. So rather than 13" to 17" of height you will have 15-1/2" to 19-1//2" of height from your bed.

The second option will require you to attach new 5th Wheel Hitch Legs # CU53FR to your Q20 Hitch Head # C16530. These new legs will drop into your mounting points on your Sierra allow for you to retain the 13" to 17" hitch height adjustments. It is also a much cleaner look that will be easier for you to install and remove if you frequently have to remove the hitch from your Sierra.
