Differences Between Trailer Hitches for 2022 Chevy Bolt EV
Question:
What's the difference between the Eco hitch and Draw Tite hitches available for a 2021 Chevy Bolt EV?

Expert Reply:
Both the EcoHitch # 306-X7359 and the Draw-Tite # DT47GR are partially concealed once installed. The only visible portion of the hitch will be the receiver tube and safety chain loops, with the remainder of the hitch being concealed behind the vehicle's bumper.
The EcoHitch # 306-X7359 features a 2 inch receiver tube, so if you're needing the hitch for a hitch mounted accessory designed for a 2 inch hitch, this would be the hitch you'd want to use. The Draw-Tite # DT47GR has a 1-1/4 inch receiver tube, so if your hitch mounted accessory is compatible with a 1-1/4 inch receiver, you'd want to go that route.
The EcoHitch model also has a higher tongue weight capacity at 300 lbs, versus the 200 lb capacity of the Draw-Tite. Tongue weight is the maximum amount of weight that can safely be suspended from the hitch.
If I personally had to choose between the two, I'd go with the EcoHitch because the 2 inch receiver is much more prevalent, and there are many more hitch mounted accessory options that would be compatible.
If you'll be using the hitch for light duty towing, for the EcoHitch, you'd need a ball mount like # D-28, a hitch pin like # PC3 and # 40038 for a 1-7/8 inch or # 63845 for a 2 inch trailer ball.
If you go with the Draw-Tite, you'll need a # 3593 ball mount, # 19256 for a 1-7/8 inch or # 19258 for a 2 inch trailer ball. The hitch pin is included with the ball mount.
For a trailer wiring harness, use part # 119147KIT.
