Adapter Solution for Thule Helium Bike Rack Used in 2-1/2 inch Hitch

Question:

I have a Thule 9043 Helium Aero 3 Bike Hitch and just recently purchased an F250. The hitch receiver is 2 1/2 inches and two large for the 2” hitch on rack. The rack requires the use of the side hitch hole. I am trying to make it work and assume I can maybe get an extended reducer from 2 1/2 to 2 and then use a pin or lock on the back part of hitch hole and still then leave the from bol on the extension/reducer to accept the rack and have vacant hole. Thank you for any help you can provide.

Helpful Expert Reply:

For your situation the best solution would be a hitch extender that reduces the 2-1/2 inch down to a 2 inch hitch like with the # HR26 so that you can keep using the hitch lock/anti rattle bolt of your Thule Helium TH9043 since it puts the 2 inch hitch out further.
