How to Determine Which High/Low Flat Towing Hitch Adapter Is Needed

Question:

I recently traded in my class C motorhome for a class A. Im towing a Ford Focus. The class C with the 16inch tires I needed a 4inch down adapter to get level. The class A has 22inch tires. Im thinking now I would need an 8inch adapter. Would my thinking be correct on that?

So what you'll need to do is determine the receiver height of the motorhome, measure from ground to the center of the hitch pin hole. Then, on the vehicle being towed, measure from the ground to the center of the base plate. If the height of the hitch and the base plate has a difference more than 3 inches, you'll want to use an adapter to bring it within that range.

I'll link to an article that explains how to take the measurement, as well as to our selection of high/low adapters.
