Yakima Outdoorsman 300 Ladder Rack Compatibility For a 2003 Toyota Tacoma

Hello, I like the hight of the Outdoorsman Full size truck bed rack. I have a compact truck. A 2003 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab. Will the full size fit the my compact truck? It looks like the only difference is the hight, since the crossbars are ordered separately and you can choose the size. Is this true? Will the full size fit my compact truck? Thank you for your help.

You are correct that the difference in the Yakima Outdoorsman 300 Ladder Rack for compact is only shorter by 2-1/2" inches from the full size truck version. With the taller bars you may have more difficulty loading your gear on the bars and experience a little more wind noise as the cross bars will be exposed to more wind with them sitting higher.
It looks like you will be able to use the full size Yakima Outdoorsman 300 Ladder Rack with 66" CrossBars # Y01137-Y00410 or the Yakima Outdoorsman 300 Ladder Rack with 58" CrossBars # Y01137-Y00409. Both of these are the full size truck height and include the cross bars.
If you feel that the lower height will make it easier for loading your cargo the compact Yakima Outdoorsman 300 Ladder Rack with 58" CrossBars # Y01136-Y00409 or Yakima Outdoorsman 300 Ladder Rack with 66" CrossBars # Y01136-Y00410 would be the kit that you will need.
